Leadership Meeting October 22,2007, 7:00 pm

1. Prayer, Mark 6:30-44-- Learning about compassion, Jesus sending us out to meet the needs.

2. Review of last two months- we addressed the need to get students out the door on time, and communicate the format to parents. Addressed the need to up communication even more.

3. Thanksgiving week Wednesday- movie night. We'll start the movie at 7, offer some free concessions, others for purchase. Maia and Keith will sell that night, Haley will buy the supplies. No games, we will set up sanctuary. That way we can bless the set up crew by giving them the week off. Leaders need to let Pete know of their movie choice by November 7.

4. Girls Night-Girls of Grace possibility-- Maia and Haley will head up this event. Hope to report back with plans for the November leadership meeting.

5. Acquire the Fire- Mpls vs Detroit

6. Nightmare details- drivers, money, permission slips. Pete will contact MS parents (of those over 13).

7. Prayer for member of the leadership team.

8. Other business- potential leaders, God moving, more leaders starting, revamp of HS group officially happens on November 7.

9. Closed in prayer at 8:45 pm.

2. Briefly discussed adult meeting formats in an effort to be more productive and draw out everyone's opinions.

4. 1st Month review

5. Purpose statements- general purpose statement review. Hangout time (connecting), music (encourage youth to worship), games and videos within gathering time (introduce message in a creative and engaging way), message (to generate thought and jumpstart conversation, small groups (real connectedness and life change).

6. Logo vote- YES!

7. CHAOS acronym- thoughts for next meeting. Pete shared his thoughts on the meanings. Will table until next leadership meeting.

8. Other- HS hang out time/room, HS leadership team, security issues

9. Closed with prayer at 8:30 pm.

Impromtu Leadership Meeting- Wednesday, August 22 9:00 pm

The team talked about the responses that we received from students and leaders regarding the new format. The music needs to be addressed (comfort level, people not showing up, encouraging the MS and HS bands, encouraging Kevin and Bernie as leaders, musicians actively participating in youth group). The underlying theme was that IT'S NOT ABOUT US! Next week's leader meeting will address three positives and three issues that need to be resolved to make CHAOS successful. We, as leaders, need to be intentionally positive in all we are doing with Student Ministries. We may also add a volunteer opportunities section to the questionairre, as well as possibly add closing music/prayer team/prayer time. Received the new leader's guide as well. We will meet again as Leadership Team next Wednesday, August 29th at 7:00 pm. Pete has a surprise for us. :)

Leadership Team Minutes- Wednesday, August 15th, 7:00 pm

3. Small groups- Larry Larson came to talk to us. Talked about how to form small groups, polling/survey. If invited by a friend, they can (of course) stay with that friend. On the first week, leaders will be at a table, just assisting kids with filling out the survey. Pete will formulate that with name, age, grade, interest questions, a couple friends to be in a small group with, etc. Pete will not be leading a group so he is available to all, to train leaders and really get to know the kids.
